My Summer Beauty Favorites 2019

Lately I’ve kinda switched up my beauty routine and have been using more cream/liquid products as opposed to powder. And when I do use powder, I’ve switched to a more luminous formula than a matte formula. Which is crazy since I have what feels like the oiliest skin of life. Do these products have the longevity of matte, long lasting formulas? Probably not. But I’ve entered into days when I no longer wear makeup for 12+ hours anymore.

I also wanted to share that I have greatly reduced my amount of spending in the makeup and beauty department this year. I wanted to focus on creating a quality-yet minimalist collection of some of my favorite products. This involves using up what I already have. If I don’t love it, I don’t repurchase and I also don’t buy another like product until I’ve used it up. Sans lipstick. Cause you can never have too many of those right?

Nars Liquid Blush (orgasm)- Although the name is not my favorite, the formula is. This gives your the prettiest flush of color when blended out with a beauty sponge. It also does not remove any foundation underneath, which is a major concern for me when using other liquid or cream products.

Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector (light to medium)- my most recent purchase. If you ever experience darkness under your eyes, this is for you. I lightly tap this stuff under my eyes and then use my concealer over top and it’s a beautiful combination.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Glow (translucent)- I’m an avid fan of the original translucent powder by her and decided to give the “Glow” formula a try. I dig it. It definitely give your skin a glow but I feel like the staying power is comparable to the matte. I feel like you can pull off a glow way more in the summer so I might get the original for winter. We shall see.

Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow (blaze)- Use for a gorgeous swatch of glittery, warm color on the lids. I only have one color but I hear the other colors are just as pretty.

Algenist Reveal Concentrated Luminizing Drops (champagne)- Two things I love about this. OK maybe three. The formula, the color, and the SMELL. This is definitely a more sheer formula but I am one that does not prefer a blinding highlight. I much prefer a natural reflect that a strip of color that is hard to blend. I will never tire of using this product.

Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk’r Instant Warmth Bronzer- FINALLY. The perfect bronzer color for my pale but warm skin tone. I say warm, but most “warmer” bronzers look really orange on me. I have a yellowish skin tone and this buildable, beautiful formula is my bronzer front runner. The perfect neutral shade that doesn’t look orange or gray on my skin.

Kester Black Nail Polish (babe)- Imma let you in on a little secret. There are SO MANY Australian brands and creatives I love. I swear every time I find something I love online, it’s either made there, available there, created there. This nail polish is no exception. The color babe is my favorite sheer nude I’ve ever found. It’s also cruelty free, vegan, and ethically produced. If you’re a psycho like myself and will pay for the shipping, I highly recommend this brand.

So these are definitely my standout products of this summer. I have quite a few products that I have my eye on, including some skincare stuff. So I’ll be doing an update in the near future!
